Musical Slideshows
Recently, my friend John, suggested categorizing some of my paintings and setting them to recorded music, about which he is quite knowledgeable. I assembled the slide decks and narratives, and he selected appropriate music and posted these creations on his YouTube channel.
This collaboration promotes "cool media" with the use of "hot media." Art such as painting, sculpture, textiles is considered by many to be “cool media," as it is static (originally described by Marshall McLuhan). “Hot media” is more interactive, for example, podcasts, virtual reality, video/audio clips, and films and is also more likely accessible -- by smartphone, computer, or TV screen.
In a world dominated by "hot media," our collaborative art/music is designed for a larger audience to view "cool media."
